TARGET:

This is an experimentation laboratory for actors that will fulfill all the phases of creating a show, including a three-role season in the programming of La Casa de La Maldita Vanidad

The Laboratory seeks to develop artistic and creative qualities through play and the discovery of the capacities of the body-voice, from the appropriation of basic concepts applied to the dramatic text, incorporating basic tools that allow confronting the theater as a total art; the approach to the work of creating roles, the introduction to the active analysis of texts and the different narrative elements of a staging, from the work with the stage space, the sound space and the lighting.

METHODOLOGY:

The three facilitators will contribute their own exercises from the stage work focused on; the creation of a group dynamic, the compression of the scene, the dramatic situation, the discovery and application of concepts for the development of a character. Dynamics and exercises based on the postulates of Michael Chejov in his book "Al Actor" and of Declan Donellan in his book "The Actor and Diana" will be applied. All this focused on the staging of a show that will have three seasonal performances at La Casa de La Maldita Vanidad Teatro. Each of the participants is understood as a creator who contributes his vision and creative concerns in the creation of the show.

Jorge Hugo Marin

He was born on January 17, 1981 in Medellín- Colombia. He is a teacher in Dramatic Art from the University of Antioquia. He is an actor, director, playwright and teacher.

In 2009 he co-founded La Maldita Vanidad theatrical company, creating of his authorship the trilogy On some family matters published in 2012 by the District University of Bogotá. Morir de Amor, his fourth work, which opens a permanent headquarters for the company called La casa de la Maldita Vanidad and which to date is a space with permanent programming and is a training space, holding permanent workshops on stage creation.

In 2013 he was the winner of the IDARTES Creation Grant for directors with a career with his new work Matando el Tiempo, which in turn is a co-production of the XIV Ibero-American theater festival in Bogotá. In 2014 he premiered Fractured Landscape for Maldita Vanidad and the musical Mentiras for the National Theater Foundation.

In 2015, he wrote and directed the play Today Aged Ten Years for the Colón Theater in Bogotá. In 2016 he premiered the play Kassandra for the opening of room 2 of the Damned vanity and the play Villains for Theater T. In 2019 in co-production with the Teatro Mayor he premiered the diptych Dramas Neo manners of a fatal character and in the same year he directed the Night without Time in a Colombo Catalan co-production. His works have been invited to more than 50 international festivals between America and Europe. .

He is a professor at the Javeriana University and the Master's Degree in Scenic Direction at the University of Valle and has been a jury for different scholarships and awards at the national level.

Ella Bercerra:

Master of Performing Arts graduated from the Higher Academy of Arts of Bogotá - Actress, stage director. Co-founder of LA MALDITA VANIDAD TEATRO 2009 Co-founder of the ESCENA Y SISTÉMICA 2020 collective. Winner of the “Golden Laurel” award for best actress at the MESS festival in Sarajevo 2012. She has participated in three international co-productions; "Animalario" directed by Alberto San Juan and Roberto Álamo. "Antígona" directed by Paolo Magelli. “Proyecto 85” with La Maldita vanidad Teatro and the Brazilian group pH2 and an artistic residency held at La Maldita Vanidad with the Mexican group Vaca 35 under the joint direction of Jorge Hugo Marín and Damián Cervantes.

Actress in more than 40 productions in her more than 20-year career. As stage director: “Orfeo ed Euridice” by Gluck with the Universidad de los Andes in 2008 “Rojo; Black and Ignorant by Edward Bond in 2009. With La Maldita Vanidad and as part of the company's repertoire, she has continued to develop her career as a director with productions of: La Bailarina y la Escopeta by Santiago Merchant in 2015. Fernando de la Pava:

Graduated in Dramatic Art from the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia in 2004. He has lived in Bogotá since 2005 where he has worked as a teacher in different public and private institutions such as the ASAB Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá, Casa Ensamble, Charlott Academy, among others. In 2008 he completed a Master in Documentary and Society at the ESCAC School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia in Barcelona, ​​Spain. Since 2011 he has been a member of the La Maldita Vanidad theater company where he has worked as an actor, participating in more than 15 international theater festivals worldwide, as Assistant Director, in 03 of the most important works of the company, such as He has been a teacher for more than 10 years in the different creation laboratories of the company and as Director, in the last two editions of the parallel gaze cycle he has directed the works La Tortuga Ciega and That is the question. As an actor for television, he is represented by Talento Nacional and has recorded more than 10 productions for national television.
